GSK’s $5M milestone to Avanir

Avanir Pharmaceuticals has said that it has earned its final $5 million dollar milestone payment from GlaxoSmithKline based on the marketing agreement for Abreva – a cold sore product that has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, and is available without prescription. The terms of the agreement provide Avanir with continuing royalties on product sales until at least 2011.
