PharmaVigilant retunes EDC system for global trials

PharmaVigilant, the US-based provider of integrated software solutions for clinical research, patient registries and other post-marketing studies, has launched an enhanced multi-language version of its InSpire Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system to address the trend towards ever more complex, large-scale global clinical trials.

InSpire now supports Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Dutch, English, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Icelandic, as well as the Malay and Swahili languages, with additional languages to be added in a multi-phased approach.

The updates facilitate setting up multilingual studies and allow sponsors to support data entry and reporting in any of the incorporated languages for easier and more compliant data capture, PharmaVigilant said.

According to James DeSanti, the company’s founder and chief executive officer, the adoption of remote monitoring was “a key driver for the expansion of our system to multiple languages, as sponsors look to ensure that essential documents maintain regulatory compliance”.

PharmaVigilant’s suite of clinical trial technology offerings also includes I-Warehouse, I-Builder, I-Vault electronic Trial Master File, I-Vault remote Source Document Verification, study administration and an automated site payment system, PaySite.

These technologies have supported more than 200,000 patients in 14 countries across North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia, the company noted.
