PharmaTimes Clinical Researcher of the Year - Key Dates and Stages

Entry Stage and Multiple Choice Questionnaire - April - 28 June 2010
Enter the competition and complete the online Multiple Choice Questionnaire.  The MCQ is based on ICH/GCP and is devised by the Institute of Clinical Research and ratified by the competition steering committee. The pass rate to progress to the next round is 90%.

Stage Two Clinical Challenges – April - 28 June 2010
On successful completion of the MCQ you will be invited to respond to the Clinical Research Challenge.  These challenges are devised by the competition steering committee and require a response in no more then 1000 words.  The challenges are designed specifically for each category and will be used to screen entries for the finals.  Completed challenges need to be returned to PharmaTimes no later then 28 June 2010.

Finalists announced - 16 September 2010
The Clinical Challenge responses are anonymised by PharmaTimes prior to marking by the judging panel so the judges do not know the name of the person, company or country they are marking.  The code is broken live at a steering group meeting held on the 10 September when up to ten finalists in each category are selected to go forward to the finals. Finals places will be assigned to up to four CRO company representatives, four Pharma company representatives and two ‘other’ (self employed/contractors/NHS/Academics institution).

Team finals day - 4 November 2010
Up to six teams are invited to compete in the finals which take the form of a one day clinical simulation organised by red kite consulting group.  The finals are hosted in Marlow by one of our competition partners SAS.

Singles finals day – 18 November 2010
Up to ten finalists in each of the singles competition categories are invited to the finals where they will present to the competition judges. The finals are hosted in Marlow by SAS.

Pharma awards ceremony – 14 January 2011
The winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony to an audience of over 400 clinical research professionals. The winners are presented with a cheque for £1,000 and the prestigious Pharma Award.
