Jan Hamston
Jan joined the Pharma industry in 1972 when she started work in an Analytical Laboratory. Following a move to Medical Information she discovered the world of Clinical Research and became a CRA in 1984.
For the majority of her career she has worked in a field-based role gaining experience within Pharma companies and 10 years with a major CRO. During this time Jan managed out-sourced CRAs and regional teams working on contracted-in projects.
In her current role Jan is part of the Clinical Management Team at Boehringer Ingelheim as CRA Team Leader and was among the first to be granted Fellowship of the Institute for Clinical Research.
Jan won the Line Manager Category of the PharmaTimes competition in 2006 and was a Silver winner in 2004 and 2005 so really appreciates the competitor’s viewpoint!
And her motto – “If at first you don’t succeed - keep trying!”
