Established in 1995, the competition evolves each year to reflect both the changing roles of the first line manager and the changing business environment.

All PharmaTimes competitions involve the participation and engagement of a cross-industry steering committee whose members are drawn from the ranks of Senior Sales Directors.  The committee’s task is to ensure the competition is measuring the right individual and team competencies.  It is the steering group who decide on the overall winners. This means winners are judged, not by PharmaTimes, but by a panel of their industry peers.

The competition also encourages aspiring first line managers, and most recently a category for Account Managers was introduced to recognise individuals working to establish business to business relationships between pharma and within local health economies.

Award winners are recognised in front of an audience of industry peers at the prestigious PharmaTimes awards ceremony.  The Pharma award is presented to all winners in each category. These awards are globally established as recognition of excellence in individuals and teams by industry peers.

Participation in PharmaTimes RBM of the Year, gives individuals and teams an opportunity to benchmark their abilities within a protected environment where personal development, enjoyment and a sense of achievement are guaranteed.
