Representative of the Year - Key Dates

January 2012 to February 2012 – Physician and Nurse Survey

With the help of our competition partners, Doctors.net.uk, Binleys OnMedica and Nursing Times, we invite doctors in Primary and Specialist Care, Nurses and Payors (commissioners/medicines management/prescribing advisors) to vote for the Representatives who they believe deserve the title PharmaTimes Representative of the Year.  The polling takes place during the months of January and February and we will provide results from the physician poll to your companies in early March.  PharmaTimes will run some preliminary data on results of the poll in PharmaTimes Magazine and web with league tables on most nominated the most highly nominated companies overall and by speciality area.

March 2012 to April 2012 – Company Selection from physician nominations

We send a list of nominations to your companies during the months of March and we ask for your company’s nominations to be returned to us by early April. New for 2012. We are giving your companies the opportunity to include additional Representatives, not included on the initial Physician poll. This will provide a useful additional internal benchmarking opportunity for your companies and give them to chance to recognise top performers who may not have been covered in the initial poll.

14 June 2012 - The Representative of the Year Finals – The Madejeski Stadium, Reading

The Finals take place at the Madejeski Stadium, home to Reading Football Club on Thursday June 14th and are being organised and run by Quintiles through their ‘Inspire Performance’ assessment process which deploys experienced physician assessors drawn from their NHS Network.  You will be asked to detail three doctors and your score across the 18 key measurement parameters is taken for all three interactions with the average of your two best scores being used to calculate your overall result. In addition to the sales interaction, you will take an quiz on the ABPI code of practice on just the areas relating to Medical Representative interactions with customers.  The quiz is compiled by the ABPI, there is nothing too tricky in there, but it is important to demonstrate that you are both a skilled communicator and are aware and compliant with the code of practice.

Workshops and Additional Learning during the Finals. New for 2012

To add value to your experience on the day of the finals, additional ‘drop-in’ workshops are being organised that will focus on working within the new NHS Healthcare environment. The workshops will include sessions on Key Account Management and GP commissioning.

5 July 2012 - The Representative of the Year Awards Ceremony, the Grange Hotel, Tower Bridge

The winners are announced on Thursday 5 July at the Grange Hotel, Tower Bridge (Black Tie). This is your evening and chance for your companies and the industry to recognise truly outstanding Medical Representatives. Representatives from the Patient Associations will also recognise the companies who achieved most nominations in each of the competition categories.
