Dr Serge Cremers appointed editor-in-chief of British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology

The British Pharmacological Society has appointed Dr Serge Cremers as the new editor-in-chief of the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology.

Dr Cremers is currently director of Columbia University Medical Center’s Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Laboratory as well as director of the Biomarkers Core Laboratory at the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research. He has been reviews senior editor for the Journal since January 2017, and has led the reviews board and developed a programme of high-impact commissioned reviews and themed issues.

He will begin the role in January 2020, taking over from the outgoing editor-in-chief, professor Adam Cohen.

Dr Cremers said that he is “honoured” to be selected, and that he “look[s] forward to building on Adam’s work to attract even more high-level original work from academia, regulatory authorities and industry, and to incorporate more new developments into publications such as precision medicine and artificial intelligence.”
