Sales Representative of the Year

Participation in the Sales Representative of the Year competition is dependent on the nominations we receive from healthcare professionals. The PharmaTimes Sales Representative of the Year is the ONLY industry wide competition driven by your customers from start to finish – participants are nominated and assessed by healthcare professionals – your customers – which means that the competition delivers truly meaningful recognition for pharma sales professionals.

  • Via PharmaTimes’ partners Binley’s and Doctors.net, HCPs nominate pharma sales reps who have seen them in the past twelve months, and who they feel have particularly stood out and demonstrated real understanding of local guidance regarding medicines usage.
  • A member of the PharmaTimes Events Team will contact the line managers of nominated sales reps for their consent and endorsement. Fees to support a nominated rep through the competition are £635 per individual entry, with payment packages available if the company is supporting multiple candidates through the competition. Please see below for more information about fees.
  • The nominated sales reps are informed of their nomination, and the list of finalists is announced on www.PharmaTimes.com
  • The finalists are invited to take part in an on-the-day challenge including interactions with physicians in their therapy area
  • Finalists can purchase tickets for the glamourous awards ceremony and gala dinner celebrating their achievements, where the winners of each category are announced. To purchase tickets click here
  • All finalists receive qualitative and quantitative feedback from physicians following the Awards gala dinner, including a competency score-sheet benchmarking their performance against that of their peers

Sales Manager of the Year

The PharmaTimes Sales Manager of the Year is open to sales professionals and teams in the pharmaceutical industry. It is self- or peer-nominated, so when you have read the category descriptions below, please visit to enter yourself or nominate a colleague.

  • Individual and team participants register their entry for the relevant category
  • Following an initial screening process, the finalists are announced
  • The finalists attend the Finals, where they take part in category-specific, on-the-day challenges, presenting to a judging panel formed of healthcare professionals and high level pharma leaders. The dates for the Finals will be announced shortly.
  • All finalists receive qualitative and quantitative judges’ feedback following the Awards gala dinner, including a competency score-sheet benchmarking their performance against that of their peers

Assessment fees for a Sales Representative of the Year entry

  • Assessment interview with up to three healthcare professionals from the candidate’s therapy area. Challenges are designed to be both thought-provoking and entertaining, whilst measuring the competencies and testing the core skills of candidates.
  • Personal qualitative and quantitative feedback and performance report, including both a benchmark of candidates’ clinical interactions against those of their peers in the competition, and constructive commentary on their individual performance from the HCP judges. Sent to candidate and endorsing line manager in digital form, this is an ideal contribution to personal development plans and provides a way to measure professional growth.
  • Lunch and refreshments at the Finals

Assessment fees for a Sales Manager of the Year entry

  • Participation and assessment in on-the-day case study/role play challenges, devised and judged by senior pharma industry leaders. Challenges are designed to be both thought-provoking and entertaining, whilst measuring the competencies and testing the core skills of candidates.
  • Personal qualitative and quantitative feedback and performance report, including both a benchmark of candidates’ clinical interactions against those of their peers in the competition, and constructive commentary on their individual performance from the industry judges.
