Organiser PharmaTimes Media is delighted to confirm that the 2016 edition of its annual competition for clinical researchers in the Americas will be held in association with the annual Meeting & Expo of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).

Taking place in Atlanta, Georgia from 16-19 April, the ACRP 2016 Annual Meeting and Expo is the largest annual clinical research education and networking event solely focused on the conduct of clinical trials. The conference will deliver more than 125 educational sessions for clinical research professionals, addressing more than a dozen topics critical to the clinical research process.

PharmaTimes Clinical Researcher of the Year – The Americas is a celebration of professional excellence, providing a valuable, practical learning and development opportunity for clinical researchers. The competition allows them to benchmark their skills against those of their peers in a learning environment, and have them judged by an independent steering committee of high-level industry leaders.

Gill Chalk, head of events at PharmaTimes Media, commented: “We are looking forward to working with ACRP to align its 2016 Meeting & Expo with the PharmaTimes Clinical Researcher of the Year – The Americas competition. Whilst the conference provides clinical research professionals with educational sessions addressing vital current clinical research issues, the competition provides a positive and practical opportunity to test how their skills and knowledge compare to those of others within the industry. This alliance raises the value of both events, as well as providing opportunities for networking in both formal and informal settings.”

Jim Kremidas, ACRP Executive Director, added: “The PharmaTimes Clinical Researcher of the Year – The Americas competition supports ACRP’s mission to promote excellence in clinical research by recognizing and celebrating professional excellence. We are excited to be working with PharmaTimes Media in recognizing the best of the best in clinical research.”

Mark Lacy, owner of Benchmark Research and chair of the competition’s executive steering group for 2016, said: “This is truly the first and only contest that represents a meaningful way to reward excellence, knowledge and expertise for clinical researchers within our industry. Whether CRC, CRA, Project Manager or Clinical Team Member, not only is the Clinical Researcher of the Year – The Americas competition a personal growth experience, it is a way to separate the good from the great internally within your company and externally within the research industry. In short, a gratifying joyful experience for all who participate.”
