US-based clinical outsourcing specialist inVentiv Clinical Solutions has signed up Argentina’s ActivaCro as the first member of the inVentiv Clinical Global Alliance, a planned network of leading clinical research partners in strategic locations around the world.

ActivaCro is a regional full-service contract research organisation (CRO) with headquarters in Buenos Aires and operations spanning Chile, Uruguay and Mexico. According to inVentiv Clinical, the new partnership will combine with its existing presence in Brazil to provide “expansive access to Latin American patient populations”.

In March the company, a division of inVentiv Health, said it would establish a base in Sao Paulo, Brazil as a springboard for expansion into other Latin American markets.

The rationale for the Clinical Global Alliance is to leverage inVentiv Clinical’s services worldwide, delivering broader patient access and enhanced efficiencies for clients.

All qualifying members of the alliance will have to pass inVentiv’s quality reviews and agree to confidential terms around joint marketing plans, equity interests and other provisions designed to ensure a long-term, collaborative approach to global clinical trials, the company noted.

The Global Alliance will also complement inVentiv Clinical’s wholly owned operations in India, Brazil, Spain, Taiwan and the US, it added.
