Medical representatives from AstraZeneca are number one in the eyes of doctors, according to a poll undertaken this year by on behalf of PharmaTimes Representative of the Year competition.

Over 600 nominations were received from primary and secondary care doctors who were asked to vote for the representatives they valued most highly on one of three criteria: best communications skills, best technical skills or simply the person they most enjoyed meeting.

Joining AstraZeneca in the top 10 are Eli Lilly, Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Janssen Cilag, Sanofi-Aventis, Novartis, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Merck Sharp & Dohme, while some of the smaller pharmaceutical companies punched well above their weight in terms of nominations. Takeda, Ferring and Eisai all featured strongly with customers.

The Mental Health category received the most votes with 25% of the total votes cast. This category was dominated by Lilly whose representatives polled over 30% of the total votes. AstraZeneca and Janssen Cilag also featured strongly in this field.

Winners will be announced on October 15. For more information and to book a table click here or contact Jill Payne via email
