Medidata Solutions, the US company that specialises in new technologies for planning and managing clinical trials, has signed up Clinsys Clinical Research for ASPire to Win, Medidata’s non-exclusive application service provider partnership.

Under the partnership, Clinsys will implement Medidata’s Rave electronic data capture (EDC) solution into Clinsys Global Project Solution, an integrated project management methodology whereby clinical trial sponsors and Clinsys project teams collaborate throughout the entire study process to ensure maximum efficiency and the highest-quality results.

Over the next year, Clinsys plans to use Medidata Rave in “multiple mid-to-large Phase II and III trials in up to 10 countries”, the companies said. Medidata will take the lead on application hosting, technical support and software development throughout the partnership.

Among the benefits Clinsys expects to realise from implementing Medidata Rave are:

- an additional layer of quality control in the data collection process to help manage the workflow of data queries between sites and Clinsys;

- fewer and more targeted site visits for clinical research assistants, based on data reviewed in advance through Medidata Rave;

- substantial gains in efficiency, including reduced timelines and improved quality as sponsors standardise on the Medidata Rave platform;

- on-time project deliverables and smooth clinical trial operations as a result of ASPire to Win training.

Clinsys is part of India’s Jubilant Organosys group and runs Phase I-IV operations in the US, Germany and India from a base in Bedminster, New Jersey.
