US-based contract research organisation (CRO) Global Research Services (GRS) says its wholly owned subsidiary in China, Global Medical Consulting Services (Shanghai) Co. Ltd (GMCS), has expanded its capabilities to offer full-service clinical trial management.

These services, offered to both Western and Asian pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies, will include protocol and case report form development, site selection, site monitoring, safety monitoring, project management, data management and biostatistics.

GMCS also aims to extend its clinical vaccine development services into the Asian market. “With the world’s increasing interest in China, vaccines and drug development in general, we find our services in these emerging markets to be both extremely timely and relevant,” commented general manager Jillian Lin.

GRS opened a Chinese office in Shanghai in 1998, and subsequently a biometrics centre using state-of-the-art Oracle Clinical data management systems in 2002.
