The Central Laboratories unit of ICON, the global provider of outsourced development services based in Ireland, has launched a secure web-based portal to give investigators and other personnel at clinical-trial sites 24-hour access to study-specific laboratory information.
Among the iSite features are user-friendly navigation, filtering and laboratory-report management, providing investigators with customised views of reports by study, site, subject or visit date.
The iSite portal also offers e-mail alert functionality, so that investigators can be notified when new reports become available.
Performance metrics
A future version of iSite, currently in development, will provide sites with study-specific performance metrics and additional tools such as customised electronic laboratory manuals.
These will be created using ICON’s Firecrest technology, a suite of training and study-management tools that, according to the company, can significantly improve the compliance, consistency and execution of study-related activities at investigator sites.
