The UK-based Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) is moving its Annual Spring Conference and Exhibition from Birmingham to London.

Next year’s spring meeting, set for 19-20 April 2010, will be held at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel in Paddington. The ICR said it was responding to member feedback, citing the new venue’s proximity to the M4 corridor and the south, as well as its excellent transport links to the rest of the country.

The theme for the 2010 Annual Spring Conference will be Science, Society and Economics – shaping the future of clinical researchccording to ICR chief executive John Hooper, the title reflects a desire to “embrace what is happening in the world and how it impacts upon clinical research”.

It also speaks to “how clinical research is part of everyday life and is therefore affected by everyday issues, such as the economy and wider issues in society”, he added.
