Medidata Solutions, the US company specialising in new technologies for planning and managing clinical trials, has announced that CMIC, “one of the largest contract research organisations (CROs) in Japan”, has joined ASPire to Win, Medidata’s non-exclusive application service provider partnership.

The strategic partnership reflects growing demand for Medidata Rave, the US company’s core technology platform for electronic data capture, management and reporting, among CMIC’s customers in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, noted corporate officer Makoto Sato.

The Japanese partner will incorporate Medidata Rave into its existing offerings for the management of electronic clinical trial data. CMIC has already achieved the Rave Accredited level within the programme, which positions it to build and configure its customers’ Medidata Rave studies and provide a portfolio of other Rave-related services, including end-user training, administration and site monitoring services.

The ASPire to Win programme includes four accreditation levels: Rave Aware, Rave Ready, Rave Accredited and Rave Accredited Plus. Since its launch in 2006, the programme has scooped up 15 partners, ranging from smaller clinical consultancies to large global CROs.
