MHRA: new procedure for company name changes

The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has introduced a new procedure for companies that intend to change their name. The changes will not only apply to companies or legal entities which hold authorisations under the UK Medicines Regulations but also affect all firms listed on the authorisations in some capacity, for example as manufacturers or wholesale dealers.

The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has introduced a new procedure for companies that intend to change their name. The changes will not only apply to companies or legal entities which hold authorisations under the UK Medicines Regulations but also affect all firms listed on the authorisations in some capacity, for example as manufacturers or wholesale dealers.

“Therefore, it is very important that companies promptly communicate any changes of company names to their business partners so these changes can be appropriately actioned by the authorization holder,” the regulator stresses.
