US-based contract research organisation (CRO) Quintiles Transnational has underlined its commitment to an expanding consulting business by appointing Jay Norman, former president and chief operating officer of Diamond Management and Technology Consultants, as president of Quintiles Consulting.
The consulting unit provides global input to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies on strategic product development, from discovery through to clinical trials, as well as regulatory compliance and analysis of pricing and reimbursement, health economics and market conditions. Quintiles said it was investing in further growth of the business “to help meet the needs of its customers as they face increasingly complex regulatory, development and market challenges”.
Norman brings with him 25 years of experience in the consulting industry, including leadership positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, McKinsey and Company, and Accenture.
“Quintiles Consulting is already recognised for its outstanding client service and insight in providing practical solutions to regulatory challenges,” he commented. “With the strategic investment Quintiles is making in consulting services and the reputation we have from our existing practices, we are well positioned to become the premier global provider of strategic consulting to the life sciences industry.”
