Parexel has become the latest contract research organisation (CRO) to sign up for ASPire to Win, the non-exclusive application service provider partnership run by US-based electronic data capture (EDC) specialist Medidata Solutions.

Under the ASPire to Win programme, Medidata will provide the tools and training for Parexel to implement the former’s Medidata Rave as an EDC solution for its global client base. The agreement formalises an existing relationship under which Parexel has been offering Medidata Rave to its bio/pharmaceutical customers. According to the companies, Parexel’s choice of the Medidata solution was guided by its broad user acceptance, easy and fast deployment capability, and key features including real-time access to clinical data.

Noting that Parexel has already been providing EDC-driven solutions for its clients’ clinical development programmes for more than a decade, Mark Goldberg, president of clinical research services and perceptive informatics, commented: “Medidata’s EDC solution has demonstrated increasing traction in the marketplace with our client base, across all phases of clinical research. This programme will further strengthen our knowledge of Medidata Rave technology and our ability to incorporate it as appropriate into clinical studies.”
