Patheon, Omnicare link on clinical trial materials

Patheon, a US company that offers contract dosage form development and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, has signed a master service agreement with US-based contract research organisation (CRO) Omnicare Clinical Research for the distribution of clinical trial materials in Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

Patheon, a US company that offers contract dosage form development and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, has signed a master service agreement with US-based contract research organisation (CRO) Omnicare Clinical Research for the distribution of clinical trial materials in Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

Under the agreement, Omnicare’s clinical supplies division will provide a variety of clinical supply services to Patheon customers, including monitoring, distribution and return accountability.

By leveraging Omnicare Clinical Research’s strengths, Patheon can offer its clients a wider range of manufacturing and packaging options, including distribution locations for clinical trial materials in Europe and Asia Pacific, said Dr Colin Minchom, Patheon’s vice president for pharmaceutical development services, North America.

Patheon’s Pharmaceutical Development Services Group covers the spectrum from pre-formulation, formulation and analytical development to clinical manufacturing, scale-up and commercialisation. Set up in 1974, Patheon is based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
