US contract research organisation (CRO) Radiant Research is extending its services from North America to India through a strategic partnership with local CRO and site management organisation (SMO) Spectrum Clinical Research.

Currently the Radiant operation comprises a full-service CRO business, a centralised patient recruitment unit and 24 wholly owned clinical research sites across the US. The partnership with Mumbai-based Spectrum means Radiant can now manage and monitor clinical studies conducted in India as well as offering seven trial sites in that market through the Spectrum network.

Clients will be able to draw on the services of both organisations through a single contract and budget, Radiant noted. The two partners share therapeutic expertise in asthma/allergy, endocrinology, cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, medical devices, men’s and women’s health, neurology, oncology, pulmonology, rheumatology and immunology/vaccines, it added.

Both organisations also take a proactive approach to patient recruitment, using health screening campaigns to build databases ahead of enrolment.
