American companies dominated the Creative Floor Awards last Thursday, scooping 19 of the 31 prizes for creative work in healthcare.
New York-based advertising agency The CementBloc had a particularly strong showing, taking home three of the five awards in the ‘Best of the Best’ category.
The company’s Steve Walsh and Julie Yoon won ‘Best Creative’ and ‘Best Suit’ respectively, while its client Regeneron Pharmaceuticals won ‘Best Healthcare Company’.
The CementBloc also won awards for ‘Art Direction’ and ‘Business to Business Self Promotional – Individual’.
Area 23, also based in New York, dominated in the ‘Patient and Consumer’ category, winning awards for ‘Copywriting’, ‘Illustration’, ‘Press Campaign’ and ‘Ambient’ – as well as ‘Other Business to Business’ in the B2B category.
London-based Publicis Life Brands Resolute was the most successful UK company, winning ‘Exhibitions’, ‘Best Individual Film’, ‘Internal Communications’, and ‘Mixed Media Campaign’ in the ‘Healthcare Professional’ category. The firm’s Alicia Case was also named ‘Best Young Talent’.
Shaheed Peera, founder of the Creative Floor, says: “This year was another bloodbath. Over half of all categories where wiped out at the first round of judging. A massive congratulations to all finalists and winners.
“We’ll be announcing how much we’ve raised this year for our young talent fund very soon. The winners of the show will get to decide how it gets spent. A special thank you to all who supported and entered the show this year.”
