In a relatively low-key event in Shoreditch last night, the winners of a new creative pharma marketing award were revealed.

The Creative Floor Awards are the only healthcare awards to donate a percentage of profits to help young talent break into the health and wellness industry, with winners getting to vote on where it gets spent.

Based on strict criteria, the entries are evaluated by judges from consumer and healthcare agencies. As a result there were several categories where there were no winners, even where finalists were listed. From a total of 58 categories there were just 29 winners on the night.

Shaheed Peera, The Creative Floor told Advertising Health: “The judging process was an experiment to see if it was possible to raise the creative bar by doing things differently from every other healthcare award show – by bringing the best judges from consumer and healthcare. The combination proved ruthless. It became an absolute blood bath. Half of the categories where completely wiped out in round one. At one point I didn’t think we were going to have an awards show! In the end only a handful of winners made it. It was worth it as what did make it through is fantastic. Brilliant ideas beautifully executed.”
