From May 5 Giovanni Caforio will take the helm at B-MS, replacing Lamberto Andreotti.
Andreotti will become executive chairman of the board of directors and will continue to serve as chairman after his retirement on August 3.
Caforio began his career in Medical Affairs at Abbott Laboratories, before joining B-MS in 2000 as vice president and general manager, Italy. A trained physician, he helped build the company’s oncology unit, and last year joined the company’s board of directors.
