Professor Sir Jonathan Abridge has been appointed as Healthcare at Homes’s new Clinical Director. Jonathan joined Healthcare at Home as Director of Quality and Governance in 2013, following the company’s acquisition of homecare provider MediHome. With a long and distinguished career with UK healthcare, he has particular expertise in health system organisation, accreditation, governance and regulation.

Jonathan is a former Chief Nurse of the Oxford University and Cambridge University Teaching Hospitals. He is also former Chief Nurse and interim Chief Executive of Barts and the London NHS Trust.

He was also the Inaugural President of the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council with responsibility for the governance and regulation of the UK’s 700,000 nurses and midwives. He is a previous Deputy Chairman of the UK Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence and has acted as a Government ‘Tsar’ for Patient Experience in Emergency Care and for Patient and Public Involvement in Healthcare.
