AbbVie has launched as an independent following its separation from Abbott and has appointed Matt Regan as its new general manager.

In the UK, where Abbott has been operating for more than 75 years, AbbVie employs 400 people (from a global workforce of 21,000).

Matt has 19 years’ experience in the pharma industry and was previously general manager, Abbott Pharmaceuticals in Norway.

AbbVie’s long-term growth will be fuelled by a compelling global pipeline of more than 20 mid- to late-stage clinical programmes.

AbbVie has tripled the number of new molecular entities in its pipeline over the last several years.
