Following a meeting of the executive steering group earlier this month, PharmaTimes Media has been busily contacting each and every entrant to the highly prestigious Clinical Researcher of the Year – The Americas competition to reveal their fate.

The full list of finalists is now available to view here.

To make it to the finals, all 58 individuals and 16 teams first had to pass a multiple choice questionnaire containing questions based on ICH/GCP/FDA regulatory guidelines, followed by a ‘Clinical Challenge’, a category specific essay submission relating to this year’s theme: ‘Envisioning the future of clinical research’.

“The competition has been fierce,” says PharmaTimes business manager and competition lead Anna Yeardley – “entries were up 55% on 2017, with more people through to Stage 2 of the competition than at any time in the last 5 years.”

This year’s top clinical researchers will now compete across eight categories Clinical Research Co-ordinator; New CRA; Experienced CRA; Clinical Trial Manager; Project Manager; Company Team; Strategic Team and Site Team.

The Finals Day, which will involve rigorous real-life professional challenges, designed and judged by senior clinical leaders, will take place on April 29 at the Hyatt Regency, Crystal City.

The Awards Ceremony will take place at the same venue in the evening. Bringing together an audience of over 100 senior clinical decision makers, the awards ceremony is photographed with live social media updates, so the success of all the finalists can be broadcast through global PR channels.
