AZ sees new US chief

AstraZeneca has named Tony Zook as Executive Vice President for North America – a role he will fulfill upon the retirement of the company’s chief executive Sir Tom McKillop on January 1, 2006 [[28/07/05a]]. Sir Tom, who is rumoured to be taking the helm at the Royal Bank of Scotland, will make way for David Brennan who has headed up the company’s US operations.

Sir Tom, who is rumoured to be taking the helm at the Royal Bank of Scotland, will make way for David Brennan who has headed up the company’s US operations.

Currently Zook – who has more than 20 years’ pharmaceutical industry experience – is the company’s Senior Vice President, US Commercial Operations. Said Brennan: “Tony possesses the leadership skills to grow AstraZeneca’s US business in the years to come. He is well suited for this important post at a critical time in our Industry.”
