The 2018 competition is well underway. Hundreds of competitors have completed Stage 1, a multiple-choice questionnaire testing knowledge of Good Clinical Practice.

Taking part in the competition was a good decision for Peter Mascenik, senior project manager at Sarah Cannon Development Innovations.

Peter says: “Winning the gold in the 2017 Clinical Researcher of the Year competition, Project Manager category, was tremendously exciting. As a representative of Sarah Cannon Development Innovations, this competition reflects the work we do every day to bring exciting and effective new therapies to patients. CROY is a great way to test and sharpen your strategic thinking, planning and communication skills amongst industry peers and leaders. I’d recommend CROY to anyone who truly enjoys their work and loves a contest."

If you are entering as a team, the team lead should fill out the online entry form - not the MCQ. Team entries will be carefully reviewed by the executive steering committee and successful applicants will go through to Stage 2.

Stage 2 is the 'Clinical Challenge', a 1000-word essay (1500 words for team entrants) where you will be expected to answer selected questions related to this year’s theme, ‘Envisioning the Future of Clinical Research’.

The deadline for completing Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the competition is 31 January. Those who wish to enter should do so now to allow time to contemplate and respond to the Stage 2 essay.
