eResearchTechnology (ERT) has formed an alliance with specialist contract research organisation (CRO) Integrium to provide centralised core laboratory services for integrated cardiac safety and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) to clinical trial sponsors and mangers worldwide.

Under their agreement, the two US companies will offer a combined solution to meet the increased demand for centralised cardiac safety and ABPM services during clinical trials. This will include integrated services ranging from project planning and set-up to study conduct, management and data delivery for primary and secondary cardiac trial endpoints.

ERT supplies centralised electrocardiographic, eClinical technology, electronic patient-reported outcomes and other services to the biopharmaceutical, medical device and related industries. Integrium is focused exclusively on clinical trials for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, with a portfolio that includes ABPM centralised laboratory services.

The Tustin, California-based company will provide a full range of ABPM supporting services under the alliance, covering equipment, proprietary analysis software, a global on-demand call centre and scientific leadership. ERT will handle the digital collection, measurement, interpretation, review and distribution of cardiac safety data through its EXPERT 2.0 workflow-enabled data management system.

“This alliance addresses a growing need in clinical research to offer comprehensive, best-in-class services in these two closely related areas of clinical study,” commented Michael McKelvey, president and chief executive officer of ERT.

“While many sponsors recognise and source each company for its respective area of expertise, customers increasingly seek consolidation and streamlining in all phases of a clinical trial,” he added. “ERT and Integrium approach the market in the same way – focusing on scientific excellence, providing a quality product, and client satisfaction.”
