US-based eClinical solutions specialist Datatrak International has expanded its relationship with Japan’s NTT Data to bring the Datatrak One cloud-based clinical research platform into the fast-growing Chinese market.

Under a non-exclusive licence, the Tokyo-based provider of information technology services will resell Datatrak One in China, building on its existing role as a value-added reseller of Datatrak One and of Enterprise Transfer services within the Japanese market.

The Enterprise Transfer programme allows clients to take an independent approach to the roll-out of electronic trials based on Datatrak’s eClinical software.

The company originally forged a five-year enterprise agreement and marketing alliance with NTT Data in December 2007.

Under the companies’ new multi-year agreement, NTT Data will design and deliver electronic clinical trials in China while leveraging its existing presence in that market to accelerate penetration of Datatrak One.

Pan-Asian powerhouse

“This agreement creates a Pan-Asian powerhouse that allows for both global companies and local Chinese companies to take advantage of our unified software suite,” said Laurence Birch, Datatrak chairman and chief executive officer.
