Finalists from a host of pharma, CROs and research institutions, including AbbVie, Boehringer Ingelheim, Novartis, Roche, Stiefel, a GSK Company, PPD, PRA International and Guy's & St Thomas' and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts, will be brought together on 30 January to hear who has won the titles of International Clinical Researcher of the Year.

And this year we are thrilled to announce two honorary guest speakers, Patrick Vallance, global president, pharmaceuticals R&D at GlaxoSmithKline, who will give his expert view of the challenges and opportunities for the future of clinical research, and Eric Low, chief executive of Myeloma UK, a patient group revolutionising the way in which clinical trials are conducted.“It is a great honour to be asked to speak at this very important event. With the best clinical researchers from across the world in one room this event is guaranteed to be exciting and inspirational,’’ said Low.

This is the culmination of a rigorous real-world competition that recognises and celebrates the tremendous hard work and passion of industry and academic researchers, with 77 finalists from all over the world including India, Russia, Belgium, Poland, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark and the UK.

The competition differs from many other industry awards as it is designed and judged by the people who matter – the customers. By including not only senior industry leaders, but officials from the Department of Health and key healthcare professionals on the judging panel, ensures it both identifies those individuals and teams who understand the needs of the customer, and rewards the best clinical researchers in their field.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for clinical research to showcase their most talented people,” says Carol Parish, senior director, clinical development, head EU and EMAP, Stiefel, a GSK company, and chair of the competition’s steering group.

The presentation evening, which will take place at 8 Northumberland Avenue, Central London, will bring together 300 clinical directors, government and industry body representation. So why not take advantage of our early bird offer and come and network with senior and board level clinical professionals from some of the sector’s biggest names.
