Eli Lilly has revealed changes in the responsibilities for certain members of its senior leadership team. Deidre Connelly, senior vice president for human resources, has been named president of Lilly USA. Succeeding her will be Anthony Murphy, who has been promoted to senior vice president for human resources and was previously executive director for human resources with responsibilities for global leadership development.
Ms Connelly joined Lilly as a sales representative in Puerto Rico in 1984 and has held a wide range of roles within the firm, including management roles in the US field sales organization and general manager in Puerto Rico. Prior to her most recent role, she was executive director of human resources for Lilly USA. As head of Lilly USA, she will continue to serve as a member of the company’s corporate policy committee.
A native of Wales, Dr Murphy joined Lilly in 1980 in a human resources role in the UK. He has held a variety of human resources positions around the world, including Europe and Japan in addition to the US.
