PAREXEL International has further boosted the global capacity of its Clinical Logistics Services (CLS) network with a new, state-of-the-art distribution centre in Singapore and expanded US facilities in Billerica, Massachusetts.

The added capabilities for managing clinical-trial supplies include secondary packaging and labelling services, noted the US-based biopharmaceutical services provider.

Extending across North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa and the Asia/Pacific region, PAREXEL’s Clinical Logistics Services provide synchronised co-ordination of clinical-trial supplies, central laboratory services and ancillary supplies worldwide.

The company also offers risk-evaluation and -mitigation planning for in-time-investigational-site supply, as well as expertise in global import/export compliance.

Growing demand

In December 2010, PAREXEL opened Clinical Logistics Services facilities in Singapore and Russia to address growing industry demand for the handling and transport of clinical-trial supplies in emerging markets

In February 2012 the company further expanded its global clinical-logistics infrastructure with a new ancillary warehouse in the Boston area of the US and a significantly larger depot in Santiago, Chile.

“As clinical trials increase in size and complexity, clients are challenged to develop and implement strategies that create consistent sourcing, manufacturing, storage and distribution processes along the supply chain,” said Mark Goldberg, president and chief operating officer at PAREXEL.

“Our investments in these important distribution centres and depots are part of the company’s ongoing efforts to simplify the clinical-trial journey for biopharmaceutical clients by supporting their growing global supply and logistics needs,” Goldberg added.
