PharmaPros, known for its technology solutions addressing data and workflow management in clinical trials, has rebranded to eClinical Insights in line with a broader focus on integrated technology to enable proactive trial management across disparate teams, vendors and clinical systems.

The US-based company said the name change, which took immediate effect, better expressed its recent transition from a technology-enabled services organisation to a SaaS-based software concern that helps pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device sponsors, as well as contract research organisations (CROs), improve clinical-trial performance.

This business transition was a “natural evolution” that parallelled industry trends, noted Peg Regan, president and chief executive officer of eClinical Insights.

“After a decade of running clinical trials for customers, and leveraging our technology to provide best-of-breed solutions, we had a unique vantage point from which to develop software that enabled real-time collaboration and process improvement,” Regan explained.

There was an opportunity to address the impact of global expansion, increased outsourcing and continued recourse to electronic data capture through a technology platform that delivered process automation, data visualisation and business analytics “through the cloud.”, she added.

Data demand

Since outsourcing has significantly reduced the sponsoring company’s control over trial performance, CROs are being asked to provide metrics, key performance indicators and trend data on study progress, Regan pointed out.

“Our technology empowers CROs to deliver this mission-critical information in real-time”, as well as enabling sponsor companies to make crucial business decisions “using the most current and accurate information possible”, she said.
