The inaugural PharmaTimes Sales Awards - established to recognise and celebrate the very best sales professionals in the industry today - will close for entries on September 7.

The competition, which is free to enter, accepts both nominations and direct entries for up to eight different categories, including Key Account Manager of the Year, Field Based Sales Trainer/Coach and Orphan/Rare Disease Sales Professional of the Year.

“Highlighting the real difference that individual sales people can deliver to both patients and HCP’s, this competition offers a crucial opportunity for learning and development against an ever changing and often complex landscape,” said Luci Sargood, PharmaTimes business manager and competition lead.

“Wherever you are in your career there’s a category for you – don’t hesitate and miss out.”

The three-stage competition is the first and only pharmaceutical sales awards in which representatives are evaluated by the very clients they have worked with.

During the first stage, candidates will supply details of five healthcare professionals of their choice, and out of those five, two will be called upon by judges to provide feedback on the representatives.

The initial evaluation score will be calculated using this HCP feedback, and those with the top scores in each category will progress to the live finals day.

Throughout finals day, all entrants will undertake a written assessment to test both general and specialist knowledge (stage 2), before gearing up for some friendly competition whereby finalists will participate in a live challenge.

This challenge will ultimately assess the finalists’ planning and strategic abilities, alongside their communication and presentation skills (stage 3).

Scores are then collected from the three stages, and winners will be announced alongside the Marketer and Communications Team of the Year Awards at the Tower Hotel in London on Thursday 15th November.
