UK-based contract research organisation Phlexglobal has consolidated its resourcing capabilities to provide better flexibility for clients in both the commercial sector and the National Health Service.

The Resourcing Solutions division has been restructured to include four sub-divisions covering Recruitment, Insourced Services, Task Force and Clinical Support Services. Recruitment will focus on the provision of permanent clinical trial administrators, document managers, clinical research associates, project managers and research nurses. Insourced Services will provide these staff on a contract basis while retaining all management functions.

The Task Force team offers short-term provision of highly experienced staff “at a moment’s notice” to help with workload peaks and to cover absences, Phlexglobal explained. Longer-term support is available from Clinical Support Services, either at Phlexglobal’s offices, the client site or a combination of the two. Functional service provision of clinical trial administration will continue to be an essential part of this offering, the company noted.

“Bringing together the four Resourcing Solutions enables Phlexglobal to support its clients through the provision of staff in the most flexible way,” commented Sarah Tucker, who ran the Task Force business and is now in charge of the enhanced Resourcing Solutions division. “We offer a variety of costing and contractual models to our clients, to suit their current needs and constraints.”

Phlexglobal’s other core services include clinical support, training, and eTMF (electronic trial master file) & document solutions. The company extended its Task Force resourcing service from industry to the NHS in July 2008.
