Phlexglobal has expanded its resourcing capabilities by launching a Research Nurse Bank to supply skilled nursing staff on a temporary basis to both commercial and National Health Service clients.

The nurses, who have experience of providing clinical research support at client sites, will be available for all phases of clinical trials, noted the UK-based specialist contract research organisation.

The new service, which Phlexglobal said was introduced in response to client requests, builds on the company’s existing Task Force offering. That supplies experienced research personnel including clinical research associates, clinical trial administrators, quality assurance personnel, research governance assistants/managers and document managers for interim and short term projects.

To complement the Task Force expansion, Phlexglobal’s training division has added a new research nurse training programme to its recently launched training curriculum, which specialises in tuition for nurses who want to move into the clinical research field (Essential Skills for Clinical Researchers: Research Nurse) as well as ongoing development for experienced nurses (Advanced Skills for Research Nurses).

“There is clear demand within the clinical trials industry for experienced temporary nursing staff,” commented Pippa Bannister, Task Force research nurse manager at Phlexglobal. “The Phlexglobal Research Nurse Bank has been launched to ensure that our clients have access to all levels of research professionals as and when they need them.”
