US-based clinical research organisation (CRO) PRA has opened a second office in China to accommodate its continued growth in that country and the wider Asia Pacific region.

PRA set up its first China office in Shanghai in 2005. The new facility is located in the central, business district of Beijing.

The extra capacity will better equip the CRO’s local project teams to meet increasing demand for its clinical development programmes, as well as putting PRA in closer contact with many of its key clients in Beijing, the company noted.

PRA has been operating in China for more than 10 years and also has an office in Hong Kong. Other Asia Pacific locations include South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and India.

“As the demand for clinical sites in Asia increases, we continually strive to strengthen our existing operations in China and the Asia Pacific region,” commented Helen Neal, PRA’s regional director - clinical operations for Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and North Africa.
