US-based biopharmaceutical services company Quintiles is re-locating its European headquarters in the UK from Bracknell, Berkshire to within 30 minutes of Heathrow Airport at Green Park, Reading.

Quintiles said the move to a five-story, 120,000 sq ft building at Green Park was in keeping with its integrated service offering, bringing together staff from each of its four business pillars.

“It is designed to create an even higher level of collaboration and effectiveness among Quintiles’ European team to better serve the company’s biopharmaceutical customers,” the company commented.

The new, state-of-the-art facility is expected to be occupied by late 2011, consolidating Quintiles’ 500 Thames Valley employees. The company employs more than 2,000 people overall in the UK.

Its investment at Green Park follows the opening of a laboratory and office facility in Edinburgh, Scotland last year and the expansion of its Phase I facility at Guy’s Hospital in London, which was completed in March.
