US-based early-development specialist Vince & Associates Clinical Research has broken ground on a US$5 million expansion of its research campus in Overland Park, Kansas.
The new three-story building will house an enlarged recruitment centre to meet demand for qualified subjects in the early phases of clinical development.
It will also incorporate an advanced medical/surgical suite for specialised clinical-trial procedures such as endoscopies, biopsies and electroencephalogram testing, as well as research suites for volunteers taking part in overnight trials.
A new state-of-the-art pharmacy will provide “additional depth for the extensive drug-preparation methods conducted at Vince & Associates”, the company noted.
Among these pharmacy facilities will be an expanded USP 797-certified clean room, which “will exceed standards by maintaining an ISO Class V environment”, Vince & Associates added.
In all, the new building will “will allow us to keep pace with demand from our biopharmaceutical clients as well as provide a clear strategic advantage for Vince & Associates in the successful completion of complex clinical trials”, commented chief executive and medical director Dr Brad Vince.
