Marketer of the Year open for entries

Marketer of the Year identifies and benchmarks marketing talent within pharma organisations against the wider industry. Entries now open!

The 2015 PharmaTimes Marketer of the Year competition attracted participants from a wider range of companies than ever before, demonstrating the crucial benchmarking opportunity it provides for all pharma marketers.

Designed to both assess and reward the competencies and potential of pharma marketers, the PharmaTimes Marketer of the Year competition identifies and benchmarks marketing talent within pharma organisations against the wider industry.

Changing customer behaviour is the basepoint of marketing. As such, the Executive Steering Committee has assigned a theme for the Marketer of the Year 2016 competition: Customer Innovation. Judges will be looking for evidence of pioneering thought processes, unexpected ways of using technology and data, and new attitudes towards marketing.

Sabina Syed, managing director of Visions4Heath and co-chair of the Executive Steering Committee, commented: “Our NHS customer landscape is becoming increasingly diverse and fragmented, access is getting tougher and affordability of drug innovation continues to be a hot topic. Our customers are demanding a shift away from our traditional ways of working with them. Therefore its paramount that marketers sharpen their customer centred focus to ensure mutual value is achieved. We are looking forward to an exciting competition this year.”

Nick Rodger, director at Incuna and co-chair of the Executive Steering Committee, added: “The PharmaTimes Marketer of the Year is still the only competition that allows participants to demonstrate their true marketing skills against their peers in a challenge that has specifically been created for their experience and competency. The competition, whilst challenging, is also a safe environment for the participants to ‘flex their marketing techniques’ in front of a panel of judges from both client and agency side. As a previous winner of the competition it certainly has helped in my career, so I would highly recommend anyone to take up the challenge.”

Following an initial screening process, an independent expert panel assesses the core capabilities of individual marketers and teams, and helps to develop them further. The competition provides a way of testing marketers, whether aspiring or experienced, and highlights the crucial role marketing plays in our industry.

Whilst other awards schemes measure output retrospectively, the prestigious PharmaTimes Marketer of the Year competition calls on entrants to demonstrate a dynamic combination of knowledge, creativity and strategic thinking in real-time challenges within a protected environment. It’s a unique opportunity for individuals and teams to sharpen their skills and showcase their talents against marketers industry-wide.
